A woman, Giselle Kyau, wrote a Facebook post regarding her experience with Johor's immigration officer. Kyau was with a Singaporean friend when the incident occured.
Her Singaporean friend didn't have an arrival stamp in her passport, which led to the officer asking for $50 to settle the issue when she tried to leave the country. The officer allegedly gave them two options, to spend $33 to call the police or just spend $50 to settle the issue.
Kyau implied that the officer appeared to be experienced in asking for bribes. She claims that she was 100% sure the officer did the deed on purpose. She also asked everybody to check their passports for chops when arriving in the country to avoid such problems and apologized to her Singaporean friend.
