A biker can thank his lucky stars that when he suffered an accident, a doctor and a nurse just happened to be passing by the area while on their way to see their patient in Jurong.
The accident between a motorbike and a taxi happened near Lau Pa Sat on Sunday night, and Dr Shravan Verma, who runs a 24 hour mobile medical service, happened to be there with all his medical equipment. In the aftermath of the accident, the biker was lying on the rod groaning in pain, so Dr Shravan helped to immobilise the man's neck in case of spinal injury, before proceeding to check his vital signs and making sure there were no severe injuries.
The ambulance only arrived 30 minutes after the accident, so it was a good thing the good doctor was there to save the day. Why did the ambulance take 30 minutes though?
